Please don't give your expensive gear to 'your mate' to 'have a go'. Use a qualified technician every time. I have City & Guilds 224 Electronics Servicing, a City & Guilds radio amateur certificate, a TEC (Technicians Educational Council) Diploma in Electronics & Communications. I also have a design degree (Ba Hons) where my speciality was electronic anodising. I have a non-trade related masters degree which compliments my charity work with
The Liberty Centre in Birkenehad. All this, plus over 45 years in the industry.
I repair for schools and colleges across Merseyside including LIPA. Merseyside musicians and bands are also among my clientbase. Notably, The Coral, The Tea Tree band, Cast, Zutons and others. I am
a Yamaha Service Partner and authorised engineer for Marshall Amplification. In
addition I did electronics contract work for Landis & Gyr in Stockport.
I now work from my workshop adjacent to my home and I am available for work by appointment only. Please do not just 'drop in' I can't guarantee that I will be free to deal with your enquiry if you do.
I have been involved in the music industry musician (bass player) since 1974 when I was field service engineer for Thomson's Music in Kilmarnock. Throughout the 70's and 80's I worked as Test Engineer for Marconi (working on underwater weapons) and taught Industrial electronics for the British government - (I still worked part-time with selected clients repairing music gear).
